destination HONDURAS

as written on 9/25

As I sit here flying Continental from Honduras --> Houston, I had an urge to start writing. With At the Drive In blairing in my ear...what better way for me to express all I have seen in the past couple of days.

As I arrived here, I had no idea what to expect. The people all seem friendly. The policia...FUCK EM'! Corruption is sad to see but is part of their lives on a daily basis. We were stopped twice, but only once having to give $$$. The poverty is extremely sad here, but you don't get a sense of urgency from those in need that they want to change their lifestyles. All security guards carry either shotguns or handguns. "CRAZY SHIT!" I never felt comfortable outside the hotel or factories visited.

Our business down here has great potential but lacks the backing it really needs. I'll get into that with Stuart when I get back to LA.

The food was fuckn' BOMB!!! -h and I had the best steaks @ an Urguanian restaurant just outside of town. -h has a picture of me in front of it...I miss home..I miss my office...I miss everything about LA....even traffic! I wanted to buy more gifts, but didn't have the time. I'll be back again 1 day..but hopefully not anytime soon. An experience in itself...a life lesson...time to learn and prepare for the future.

The anticipation of landing draws more and more as I sit here...waiting to be home. The smell of stale cO2 fills the cabin from the breath of every person on board. To land now would be perfect!

I was stopped by United States Customs today. I was carrying 2 illegals...CUBANS that is. Brown & ripe for the smokn'...this was a NO NO!!! Officer Flores made me dispose of them and had me on my way...Fuckn' Stuart! Dinner / Lunch whatever you want to call it was good. Butterflied deep fried shrimp & french fries. I paid.

I'm still thinking about the country I just left. Small, poor, dirty, but yet for some reason, it is very important.

Honduras was a business trip and nothing more. -h and I didn't enjoy the city shopping, clubs, or local women. We stayed pretty much at the factories and the hotel. I didn't take many pictures as I didn't want to offend and or piss anyone off. I wanted to blend in and stay a non-looking tourist as much as possible. We went to (from what I hear) the world's largest textile factory. It's on 1 million sq. ft. of land. I met with the president of the company who was kind enough to let us tour the facility. This place means business! Danny and Stuart were most accomodating. Will I go back? If I have to...then yes. Anytime soon?? FUCK THAT! Enjoi the pics.
